In this comprehensive training, professionals working with system-involved youth will delve into the unique needs of autistic and other neurodivergent youth in their care. Through an exploration of disability movements and language shifting, participants will gain a nuanced understanding of how to respectfully engage with and support neurodiverse youth. Practical skills for direct support will be emphasized, empowering professionals to create safe and successful environments for these youth and their families. Additionally, participants will learn strategies to facilitate self-advocacy among system-involved youth, fostering empowerment and agency.
