Foster Care Training

The goal of this training is to provide a cultural context for understanding and addressing multigenerational trauma of African American youth, families and community. Information will be presented on the impact of multigenerational trauma and how it is transmitted from parent to child, the added and cumulative effect of racial trauma and how all these stressors impacts African-American lived experience and various responses to this traumatic stress. Participants will also learn supportive strategies and interventions for addressing trauma with African American youth and families.
