This training focuses on the kind of awareness, engagement, and information that is necessary to address issues of power and privilege in working across cultural differences with youth, families, and other providers. It aims to support and enhance the development of ally-ship among all levels of providers and other staff working with and supporting youth through exploring a deeper appreciation of how multiple identities influence their experience of community. Frameworks and tools to understand and challenge dynamics of white supremacy and internalized oppression will be provided, as well as opportunity for dialogue and self-reflection. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss difficult encounters they have had concerning issues of privilege and power dynamics and explore options to support an effective outcome.
