Presentation is designed to prepare new foster parents/resource families to work with children in the foster care system. Participants will understand the foster care system from the perspective of being part of the agency. Participants will learn that foster care is meant to be temporary and that their actions as a foster parent are key to the whole process. Participants will understand their role as part of a large team. Participants will fully understand Community Care Licensing regulations and the role CCL plays in their lives as foster care providers. Participants will understand the differences and similarities among the different Social Workers who will become part of their and their children’s lives.

Objectives:
  1. Presenter will identify and review key elements of successful foster parenting.
  2. Participants will Review Title 22 (CCL) Regulations, Client Rights, Child Abuse Reporting and the Intake Process.
  3. Identify with the Treatment Team and clarify Roles and Goals.
