The purpose of the training is to strengthen intake and assessment skills of team of providers working with children birth to 5 who are in foster care. Training will focus on identifying development capacities in infants and small children, medical issues that require treatment and that impact functioning, assessing safety and identifying critical mental health needs of infant and small children and in particular children in dependency. Additionally, this training will enhance providers’ capacity to integrate service of collaborators including parent advocates and family partners in the system of comprehensive care with the aim of improving the relationships of children in dependency with their parents, families, and caregivers.
