The DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition) has many significant differences from previous editions, including new diagnoses, changes to previous diagnoses, and a new classification system. In this course, participants will review the significant changes to diagnoses used for children and youth which are used for Medi-Cal specialty mental health services. They will apply their new knowledge of the DSM to their own cases and vignettes. This class is designed for people who have taken a DSM-5 but have little or no experience using the DSM-5 with their clients.
