This training is designed to explore transracial adoptions with an emphasis on Cultural Competency versus Cultural Humility. This training will engage in a discussion on the Cultural Iceberg, Transracial Adoption Support and preparation as well as ongoing ideas. This training will examine How to address privilege; deconstruction, understanding and acknowledging with an opportunity to process. It will identify the faces of racism and how we as a community can deal with current binaries. The participant will leave with a working knowledge of what implicit bias is, what are macroaggressions, what is cultural appropriation and how we as a community can move forward successfully as staff, parents and co—workers in the current environment.
