It is widely assumed that parent/caregiver involvement in the care of children and youth is crucial. Service providers dedicated to serving youth understand that the involvement of families is related to successful outcomes. There is even evidence suggesting that family involvement may be a more critical factor in the effectiveness of services for children and youth than the particular type of intervention provided. The importance of family/caregiver involvement regardless of the setting is evident, Yet service providers often find it challenging to engage key family members. This training provides attachment and structural approaches to conceptualize and understand family involvement.
